Rosalie Antoinette (Stamos) Harp

Rosalie Antoinette (Stamos) Harp, 80, of Portland, OR peacefully passed away on March 19, 2023 with beloved family members by her side. A funeral service will be held in her honor at 3pm on Monday, March 27 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial at Ogden City Cemetery and Reception at Holy Family Catholic Church (Social Hall) to immediately follow.

Rosalie lived a full and amazing life. She was always happiest when sharing time with her large family and many friends. Those beautiful memories will live on by her surviving family members; sister LueCille Marquardt, 94, husband Richard Harp, 76, and her three children; Steven Michael Stamos, 57, Debra Ann Stamos, 56 and Kristina Marie Stamos Soerensen 53, and her three grandchildren, Jovanni Ross Roland, 27, Nicole Antoinette Soerensen,1 8 and Evan Mathis Soerensen, 15.

Rosalie grew up in Ogden Utah, went to St. Joseph High School and served as the Student Body Vice-President. She was inducted into the National Honor Society with her mother Dorothy Castro and father Sebastiano Castro in attendance watching with proud tears in his eyes. It was his last attended event before his death. Rosalie graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science degree and went on to marry Ted Stamos. They were able to travel in the US and abroad during his time in the Air Force and settled in Boise, Idaho to raise their three children. Rosalie worked for the Bank of Idaho for 12 years and was one of the first women Assistant Vice Presidents. One of Rosalie’s greatest adventures was moving to Portland, Oregon where she worked and eventually retired from the Port of Portland. Upon retiring she was honored by many distinguished and decorated servicemen and women for the great work she did in the recruitment and hiring of personnel for the Portland International Airport’s Police and Fire departments. All of Rosalie’s work in Human Resources was with a dedicated passion to eliminate discrimination in the workforce. She was a pioneer in her field and served on many committees and councils in both her personal and professional life making a huge impact on the people and communities she served.

Rosalie loved reading, gardening, crafts and was an excellent cake decorator and scrapbooker. She loved to travel, attend musicals and more than anything be with her family. Her legacy continues as we celebrate the beautiful, gracious, kind women she was and aspire to make as much difference in our communities and people’s lives as she did.
