Together Again

Cecil Adren and Janice Christensen Heslop were married on December 11, 1954, after meeting at Weber College. They were together for 69 years before passing away within 77 days of each other. Janice was born on June 1, 1934, and Cecil Adren was born on December 9, 1931.

Cecil Adren served in the US Marines during the Korean War and worked at Hill Air Force Base for 37 years before retiring in 1986. Janice worked as a cosmetologist and also retired from Hill Air Force Base. They enjoyed managing and maintaining their own apartments, family vacations, following the stock market, attending concerts, and watching sporting events. They loved spending time with their family and going for coffee breaks.

Janice Christensen Heslop was preceded in death by her parents Wilford and Fannie Jensen Christensen and her brothers Jay, Darwin, and Wilford Jr Christensen. Cecil Adren Heslop was preceded in death by his parents Edward Thomas and Lilia Bates Heslop, his brother Garold Heslop, and his sisters Etta Mae Madson and Garneta Heslop.

Cecil Adren passed away on April 26, 2023, and Janice passed away on February 8, 2023. They are survived by their three children: Sheila Rae Conley, Curtis Edward (Alice Jex) Heslop, and Chris Adren (Candi Bassett) Heslop, as well as their five grandsons, two granddaughters, and eight great-grandchildren. Cecil Adren is also survived by his 93-year-old sister, Ilia Elwell.

The family of Cecil Adren and Janice Heslop will miss these two loving and hard-working people. We are glad they didn’t have to spend too much time apart from each other. We love and will miss them both. Graveside services were held for Janice on February 13, 2023, and for Cecil Adren on May 1, 2023. They are buried at the Washington Heights Memorial Park in South Ogden, Utah.
