Carol Williams Doxey

July 10, 1931 — May 26, 2023

Carol Williams Doxey, 91, passed away at home on Friday, May 26, 2023. She was born and raised in Blackfoot, ID, a daughter of Thomas and Rita Williams.

Carol served a mission in the Samoan Islands where she first met her future husband David F. Doxey. They were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on April 14, 1958. They made their home in Ogden UT and together reared a family of 8 children. David passed away in 2020.

Carol received her Bachelor’s Degree from Utah State University majoring in Home Economics and minoring in Music. She taught high school Home Economics, and took great joy in teaching and strengthening children. She was a life-long faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, holding many church positions where she was well respected and loved and always using her musical talents to lift and inspire others.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a consummate mother, an extraordinary homemaker and seamstress, and an accomplished vocalist and teacher. Carol made friends easily and loved writing cards and letters to strengthen friends and family around the world.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, David Doxey; sister, Rita Rae Hale; and granddaughter, Holly. She is survived by three sisters, Charlotte Pounds, Mary Wray and Martha Jane Ellis; her children, David Jr. (Sally), Kaio (Alisa), Todd (Linda), Carolyn (Scott Taylor), Jack (Denise), Charlotte (Scott Jordan), Thomas (Tiffany), Daniel (Jen), and Feleti “Junior”; 46 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.

Carol’s legacy of faith, strength, service and unconditional love has blessed all who know and love her. She will be profoundly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment in Ogden City Cemetery.
