Dixie Burrows Hutchens

Oct 18, 2023

1933 — 2023

We come together reverently to celebrate the life of Dixie Noreen Jacques Burrows Hutchens, born on February 18, 1933, and passed away from natural causes on October 15, 2023.

Dixie was the beloved wife of James Edward Burrows, deceased, and of Arthur Eugene Hutchens, also deceased. Her own children will always cherish her memory: Russell, Michael (Debbie), Rebecca (Perry), Richard (Janice), Robert (Natalie). Dixie was also blessed with stepchildren, belonging to Arthur Hutchens: David, Janice (John), Chris (Dan), and Joann (Robert). In all, Dixie enjoyed the love and companionship of 19 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by two sons, Todd Burrows and Clinton Burrows; also by her parents, Floyd Jacques and Rhea Bradley. Dixie’s legacy of love and humility will continue to inspire her large family, while her absence will sadden all who were fortunate to know her.

Dixie’s faith in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was her corner stone. She served as a Relief Society president; as Young Women’s president; as a Ward Primary president, as a Stake Primary president, and as a missionary, called to work in Hong Kong. She exemplified an oft-cited verse in The Book of Mormon: “Charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever” (Moroni 7:47).

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday October 21, 2023, at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah.
