November 11, 1946 — August 30, 2023

Carol Marie Mays Jenkins died Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from a brief, rare illness with her eternal companion at her side, surrounded by her loving family. Carol is the daughter of Violet and John Mays.

Carol is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Dale Jenkins, and her five daughters, Jennifer (Jay) Ward, Lisa (Jared) Olsen, Laurie (Kyle) Brown, Nancy (Jamey) Drysdale and Andria (Ryan) Hansen, as well as 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a half-sister Brenda Velten.

She was preceded in death by her mother Voliet Mays, her father John Mays, an infant daughter Janette Jenkins and two infant grandchildren Lily Olsen and baby Drysdale. She was also preceded in death by her step-mother Irene (John) Mays, half-sister Avis Mays, half-brother Jeff Mays and cousin Sharon Hancey who Carol considered her a sister. Carol’s treasure and joy is her family.

In her final difficult hours, a caregiver asked her where, in all the world, she would like to be at that moment. She answered, “In the middle of all my family watching them and listening to them talk and laugh.”

Carol was born and raised in Logan, Utah. She attended Logan High School where she danced as a Hi-Lo, designed and sewed her own uniforms and formal dresses, met her future husband and graduated in 1965. Carol and Mike were married on February 18, 1966 in Preston, Idaho and later created an eternal family when they were sealed in the Logan Temple on April 3, 1967. Mike and Carol made their home and raised their family in Brigham City.

For more than 40 years, Carol loved meeting with her Brigham City friends for their monthly Ladies Luncheons. She adored all things Disney and reminisced often of her days in the park with her family.

Carol was an accomplished quilter and loved spending time at the sewing machine. Carol’s devotion to her family extended beyond the veil as she dedicated much of her time, energy and skill to family history research.

As a family, we wish to offer special appreciation to Jacqui Ball at the The Auberge for recognizing Carol’s condition and accelerating her diagnosis and treatment. You are a miracle to our family. A viewing service will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 6:00-8:00pm at Myers Mortuary at 205 S 100 E in Brigham City.
