She was wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her. She worked several small jobs while her children were growing up. But once her first grandchild arrived, she was a full-time babysitter for all of them at one time or another. Even while staying in the Assisted Living, she was still offering to care for her great grandchildren.

Karen grew up as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She also has three sisters Shirley Lamon (Richard), Janis Wolsey, Rita Walker (Royal) and brother Clark Phipps (Penny).

Karen was preceded in death by her parents Roy Clark Phipps and Theodora Nielson, her brother Wilford Moore, her sister Sally Marietti, and grandson Adam Jon Heulitt.
