Joan Blevins Corry

Sep 21, 2023

November 11, 1954 -- September 17, 2023

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Joan Blevins Corry, 68, of West Bountiful, Utah, unexpectedly passed away on the evening of September 17, 2023, following a brain aneurysm. She was surrounded by her loving husband and children as she slipped away peacefully.

Joan was born on Veterans Day, November 11, 1954, (a birthday she shares with her granddaughter), to Merle and Eugene Blevins of Farmington, Utah. Joan attended and graduated from Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah, and went on to college at Weber State University to start her long career in human resources as a payroll coordinator.

She later went on to start her family, her greatest achievement. She had four children: Brandon (Nonnie) Orton of Eden, Utah; Bindy (Eric) Flores of Clinton, Utah; Bobby Gideon of Layton, Utah; and Nate (Mikayla) Lower of Las Vegas, Nevada. After meeting the love of her life, Don Corry, she added two more children to her family: Colton (Tara) Corry of Sandy, Utah; and Casey (Berkay) Gumus of Centerville, Utah.

She was incredibly gifted with a crochet hook, able to make the most beautiful and intricate pieces. After some persuasion, she entered some of her afghans into the state fair, winning first place. She also enjoyed cooking, with a knack of making great meals out of whatever was lying around the house, or following her tried and true recipes for amazing dishes that her family loved.

She was an avid University of Utah football fan. You could find her at EVERY home game, or watching at home when the team was away. She never missed a game. GO UTES!

Joan was preceded in death by her mother, father and her son Bobby, whom she has missed very much for the last 12 years.

She is survived by her loving husband, Don Corry, her children, and her 12 grandchildren: Kayla, Cameron, Gage, Gabriel, Daunavon, Takomah, Henry, Lola, Hank, Gigi, Ellie, and Emma; and two great-grandchildren, Khyce and Behkam. She also leaves behind three fur babies that she loved dearly Ozzy, Cooper, and Maisy.

There will be a small celebration of her life for all family & friends at her and her husband's home this Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at 1190 Jessis Meadow Way, West Bountiful, Utah, 84087.
