Larry Hal Cragun

Sep 22, 2023

Larry H. Cragun left this earth Saturday September 16, 2023, at the age of 82. He was the fourth child of seven born to Cecil Lavern Cragun and Gladys Virginia Aikens in Pleasant View, Utah.

His early years were spent growing up in Pleasant View. At that time, it was a small country town, and everyone knew everyone, he was related to most of the people in town. Larry met Nona Jean Slade at a seminary activity and after graduating from Weber High school they were sealed on December 15, 1960, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They were happily married for 62 years and had 5 children, 19 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.

Larry was involved in the moving business as manager of Slade's Moving & Storage, and then he went to work for SunPlay Pools and worked there for many years as a service manager. In 1991 Larry and Jeannie started Larry's Pools and Spas. They both worked tirelessly to make this business a success until they retired in 2013 and moved to Ivins, Utah.

Larry enjoyed the associations he made while serving in the LDS church. He served in the Elders Quorum, 70's group leader, High Priest group, High Council, and as a Bishop, which he truly loved. Larry and Jeannie loved to travel, especially to church history sites. Larry enjoyed camping and getting together and traveling with his family. We are all better after knowing Larry and feeling his love for everyone.

His children are Bruce (Lauri) Cragun, Richard (Beth) Cragun, Jeanette (Alan) Mooney, James (Stefanie) Cragun, and Matthew Cragun (Diana Hightower).

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sons Richard Cragun and Matthew Cragun, and his grandson James Richard Cragun, along with two brothers and a sister Cecil Cragun, Randy Cragun, and Janae Jackson.

Larry is survived by his loving wife Jeannie Cragun, and his siblings Pat and Gerald Zabel, Carol Parker, Mick and Donna Cragun, a brother-in-law David Jackson, and sister in laws Carol Anne Cragun, and Betsy Cragun.
