She was born November 1, 1944, in Spanish Fork, Utah to William Wayne and Grace Wilde Cornaby, joining her brother Richard, completing the family. She was raised in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She had a great love of horses, and together with several of her girlfriends would ride around Manilla (not the one in Eastern Utah), and at a local arena. She was once elected Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days rodeo queen. Another year she was the queen of the entire Strawberry Days celebration (her mother made her ride on the float in the parade even though she had appendicitis!). She also competed in the Miss Utah pageant, representing P.G.

After graduating high school, she attended Utah State University where she affiliated with Chi Omega Sorority and graduated with a degree in Child Development and Elementary Education. She taught at elementary schools in Provo, Utah and Arlington, Virginia, retiring at the birth of her first child. Forever thereafter she took no greater pleasure than from being a mother and homemaker. She did all the things and spent all the worrisome nights that all dedicated mothers do in raising their children. Her interests became those of her daughters. Her main activity for many years was endlessly driving daughters to-and-fro. Her greatest joy came from opening her home to her daughters’ friends, male and female. Many times, those friends would show up at her door and stay to visit with her even if the daughter they came to visit wasn’t home. She was a generous host with a kind, “unique”, and quirky sense of humor. She always made everyone laugh who came to her home, even if they had no intention of doing so when they came through the front door.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many auxiliary positions, primarily with the youth in Primary and Young Women. She loved serving in the Stake Relief Society Presidency.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen; her daughters Holly Smith (Tim), Britt Cragun (Brian), Leslie Bailey (Lance) and Megan Miller (Preston); twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Adrienne, and her parents.

A celebration of life will occur on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel located at 720 Nancy Drive, Ogden. Viewings will be held at the chapel on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. She will be laid to rest at Lindquist Washington Heights Memorial Park in South Ogden.
