In the quiet hours of Wednesday, April 3, 2024, Robert Stanley Jensen, graduated from this mortal life of heart failure at the age of 85, in the arms of his loving wife and daughter, Jody, while at his home in Brigham City, Utah. Stan was born June 16, 1938, in Brigham City, Utah to Isaac H “Ike” and Martha Call Jensen. He was the last of 13 children. Robert Stanley was known mostly as Stan by the family.

Stan graduated from Box Elder High School and LDS Seminary, May 13, 1955. Stan lost his father when he was nine years old. This left him and his three sisters and mother in the household. His brothers acted as father figures in his life. He worked at Anderson Ford to help support the family from 1954 to 1956, working in the service station. At this same time, he helped his brother Levar on the milk route and other jobs Levar did. Stan joined the US Army Reserves after graduating from high school in 1956. In August of 1957, he began working for Thiokol Chemical in the mail room, and was promoted to communications, office controls and inventory control. He retired from there after 42 years.

Stan married Cheri Grunig in 1960. They had two children, Chris and Melanie. They later divorced. In 1990 he married the love of his life Jill Lloyd Duran, gaining another son and daughter, Jon and Jody.

He Volunteered for Meals on Wheels delivering meals for 17 years. He loved camping & traveling with Jill in their trailer. He loved working in his putter shed making all kinds of woodworking projects. He especially loved working in the dirt and always had a beautiful yard. Gardening was his happy place, working alongside Jill, one year even winning “Yard of the Month”.

Stan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served as the Ward Membership Clerk for the 20th Ward for 24 years. Anyone who has met Stan would say he was the most caring, efficient, and non-judgmental person. He made many friends anywhere he’d go. Stan had an infectious smile and laugh. Mostly laughing at himself. He was a good sport and up to trying anything. He was a meticulous record keeper.
