Marilyn Beth Lloyd Smith

Marilyn Beth Lloyd Smith, 91, returned home to her Heavenly Father April 5th, 2024. She was born on June 26, 1932, in Lehi, Utah to Charles H. Lloyd and Ruth Osterloh. She grew up and spent most of her life in Salt Lake City, and Ogden Utah.

She married her sweetheart and eternal companion, Leslie K. Smith, on November 12, 1965, in the Salt Lake Temple. She was blessed with four stepchildren.

She had a fervent testimony of the gospel and was a faithful member of the LDS Church throughout her life. She had numerous callings in the church, beginning at age 14. She taught Primary and Relief Society and was a counselor to three Relief Society Presidents. She had a great love of music and held many positions in the ward and stake involving music. Since by profession she was a secretary, she held many positions as a secretary in various organizations.

She graduated from Granite High School and attended the University of Utah and LDS Business College.

She was employed for many years at LDS Hospital and Intermountain Health Care as a medical secretary, and then as an administrative secretary. She served a mission in the Central Atlantic States.

She lived a charmed life engaging in many of the things she loved to do. She and her husband traveled to many places across the globe. With Les being a pilot, they sometimes traveled in their private plane. She enjoyed camping, waterskiing, snow skiing, fishing and ATVing.

She is survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews whom she had a great love for.

She is preceded in death by her sister-in-law Billie Smith, Sister Barabara Wallin, her loving Husband Les Smith, her parents Charles Lloyd, and Ruth Osterloh, two nephews, and two stepchildren.

Her smile and cheerful disposition will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family would like to thank Karen Larsen for her love and care she gave Marilyn throughout the years. Also, Audrey and Amber who cared for her. As well as the staff at ‘Our House’; Tara, Zoe and Rindi.

Funeral Services will be held Friday April 12, 2024 at 11am. Viewing will be held prior from 9:30am-10:40am at Myers Mortuary, 845 S Washington Blvd, Ogden UT 84404.

Graveside services will follow the funeral services at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 W 4100 S, West Valley City UT 84120.
