Apr 16, 2024

1938 — 2024

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, relative, and friend, Timothy Wayne Healy, returned to his Father in Heaven on April 14, 2024, surrounded by his adoring family! He was born May 3, 1938, to loving parents Clifford Wayne and Leah Fotheringham Healy in Ogden, Utah.

Tim was in the first graduating class which completed all three years at Ben Lomond High School; graduating in 1956. He served an LDS mission in the North Central States from 1958-1960. He graduated from Utah State University in 1962 and served as Student Body President his senior year. He was commissioned a 2nd Lt. in the US Army through the ROTC Program. He met his eternal companion, Collette Card, at Utah State, and on August 29, 1962, they were married in the Cardston Alberta LDS Temple. They moved to Washington, D.C. where Tim attended the George Washington University National Law Center and graduated in 1965 with his Juris Doctorate degree. He served on the staff of Senator Wallace Bennett. Following graduation, Tim served three years in the US Navy as a JAG officer in Newport, Rhode Island and San Diego, California. Upon his release from the military, he and his family made their home in Pleasant View, Utah, where they have resided for the past 56 years. He subsequently became a member of the US Air Force Reserve, retiring as a JAG Colonel after 32 years of military service. Tim was a real patriot who loved his country!

Tim enjoyed community service and was committed to building a better community. He served as Mayor of Pleasant View from 1970-1974. He also served as Vice Chairman of the Weber Area Council of Governments; as the Business Chairman for the American Cancer Society; as the President of the Ogden Kiwanis Club, and was a member of the American Legion, and served at many military funerals, presenting the American flag to surviving family members.

In 1968, he began a very successful law practice which spanned 35 years. He thoroughly enjoyed the practice of law and the opportunity to assist thousands of clients in resolving various legal matters. He was always proud to be known as an Attorney at Law! He also served as a Juvenile Court Commissioner for 20 years in Weber, Davis, Box Elder, and Cache counties. He took a sincere interest in the young men and women who appeared before him always with the intent to assist them in becoming better citizens.

Tim was a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in many ward and stake positions, including Bishop, High Counselor, Stake Presidency Counselor, and Counselor to three Mission Presidents in the Utah Ogden Mission. Following his retirement, he served a mission with his wife Collette, at the Kirtland, Ohio, Visitors Center. He always cheerfully served where he was needed. He never complained about an assignment! Next to his family, serving in his Church brought him the greatest joy. He loved his many friends from all different walks of life. He served with his wife and dear friends as Hosts at the Joseph Smith Memorial building in SLC for 6 years. He also enjoyed serving as an ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple. He thrived on serving others!!

Tim and Collette had an incredible experience being volunteers for the SLC Olympics in 2002 where they escorted Donny and Marie Osmond, Dorothy Hamill, Dick Button, and other dignitaries at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

They helped host the Annual Christmas Creche display in Pleasant View and Weber County for many years. Thousands enjoyed this Christmas tradition.

Tim was by Collette’s side as they served 30 years in the PTA at each school their children attended. “CARE A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE REST OF THEIR LIVES….CARE A LITTLE MORE TODAY”…this was their theme as they helped build the self-esteem of every student and parent!!!

Tim loved traveling the world with his sweetheart, Collette; and loved all our family trips. His favorite vacation was going to Alberta, Canada, where his beautiful wife Collette was raised. He worked hard so they could play hard!

REST IN PEACE, FAITHFUL SERVANT OF THE LORD! You will be greatly missed!
