Joseph Weldon Lamb

Joseph Weldon Lamb passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024, at the Auberge Memory Care Facility in Ogden Utah. Joseph was born on January 1, 1930, in Cisco, Texas to Robert F and Hilda (Miller) Lamb. He moved with his family to Steamboat Springs, Colorado where he graduated from high school. They later moved to Caldwell, Idaho where Dad met and married Martha Rumbaugh. They lived in the Caldwell and Middleton, Idaho area. where Dad and Mom raised 5 boys: Michael, Robert, Marion (David), Richard and Warren. He also had a daughter from a previous marriage Sally (Satya). Dad moved the family to West Point, Utah in 1966. After Martha passed away in 1976, dad married Arta (Spencer) Chambers on September 15, 1979.

Dad worked for Sears for 37 years in a variety of management and sales positions. Dad and Arta loved to travel and put many miles on their fifth wheel and motor home. In 2000 Dad and Arta built their dream log home in Donnelly, Idaho. They spent summers in Idaho and winters in Hurricane, Utah. Dad was a 50+ year Mason and served as Worshipful Master of Unity Lodge #18 in Ogden, Utah in 1980 as well as other Masonic Organizations. Dad served his country in the Army National Guard and Army Reserves retiring after 20 years as a Sergeant First Class. Dad was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Ogden, Utah for over 50 years.

Dad is survived by his daughter Satya (Mary) Riversong and sons Michael Lamb of Layton, UT; Richard (Donna) Lamb of Port Angeles, WA; Warren (Amy) Lamb of Layton, UT, three Stepdaughters: Stephanie Brady of Syracuse, UT; Julie Rupe or Ogden, UT; Charollet Chambers of Roy, UT and Olive Leuderbaugh his companion for the last 7 years. Eighteen grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Dad was preceded in death by his parents, all his brothers and sisters (Alvis, Roberta Svendson, Barbara Ketcham and Colin; his wives, Martha and Arta and two of his sons Robert and David Lamb.

Funeral Services will be held at Leavitt’s Mortuary on 36th Street in Ogden, Utah. Friends may visit family members at a viewing at the mortuary from 6:00 to 8:00 on Friday night, April 19th or 8:30 to 9:30 on Saturday morning April 20th with a memorial service to follow at 10:00 at the mortuary.

Interment will be in Canyon Hill Cemetery in Caldwell, Idaho on Monday at 1:00.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Auberge of North Ogden as well as the A+ Hospice staff for the care and attention they gave dad.
