Nicholas James “Nick” Wallwork, Sr.

Beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend Nicholas James “Nick” Wallwork, Sr., age 66, passed away at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah, on December 27, 2023.

Nick was born in Ogden, Utah, to Doyle Willis and June Rose Wallwork. The youngest of six children, he grew up with his two sisters, Michele Talbot, Jody Wallwork, and three brothers, Dave, Chris, and Rich Wallwork.

He attended Bonneville High School and was an honored graduate of the University of Utah and the University of Virginia School of Law.

Nick had a distinguished legal career – practicing law in Phoenix, Arizona for some 30 years. He was a leader in the Arizona Legal Community. He served as President of the Arizona State Bar and was a Member of the State Bar’s Board of Governors for many years.

In addition, he served as Chair and Member of several American Bar Association Sections and Groups. An avid legal scholar in environmental and intellectual property law, he was Editor-in Chief and authored several portions of the Arizona Environmental Law Manual and author of the environmental chapter of the Arizona Appellate Handbook. Too, he authored several law review and legal journal articles over the years.

Nick loved his family deeply. He leaves behind his two sons, Andrew John Wallwork and Nicholas James Wallwork, Jr.; their mother, Alice Wallwork; and his “Ogden Family” including his sister-in-law, Debi Wallwork (Rich); his nephew, Chance; and “his girls” nieces, Whitney and Alex. He was preceded in death by parents; all of his siblings; and his much loved Uncle Clay and Aunt Eris.

We love you Nick.

We miss you.

We will carry you in our hearts forever.

We wish you freedom from pain;

and above all things, peace.

Nick’s Memorial Celebration will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 1 to 3 p.m.at the Community Center at Lindquist’s Office Building, 3434 Washington Blvd.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in Nick’s honor be made to Utah Food Bank.
