JoAnn Z Passey

JoAnn Z Passey, aged 89, of Ogden Utah passed away on Aug 21, 2024 after a brief illness. JoAnn was born on March 26, 1935 in Ogden Utah to Welling Zundel and Eva Hess Zundel. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1953 and went on to college at Weber State College. She married Russell Passey on June 12, 1958 in the Logan Temple and went on to adopt two children, Debbie and David.
JoAnn was an active member of the LDS church all of her life, serving in many leadership positions. Her family thinks she spent half her life as Relief Society President. She loved serving and helping others. She had many lifelong and close friends whom she talked with daily. Talking on the phone was one of her favorite past-times. She was an amazing cook, an excellent seamstress, and made the best quilts ever. She loved every holiday and made them all into a fun experience for all. Christmas was always her favorite and her family firmly believes she still believes in Santa Claus.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband Russell, her four sisters – Evelyn Zundel, Nola Warner, Barbara Holmes and Donna Hunter. She is survived by her children: Debbie Naylor (Mark Walters), David Passey (William Winter), Grand-daughter and care-giver Ashley Passey as well as 6 other grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Avamere Assisted Living and Enhabit Hospice for all their kindness and care.
