Dec 10, 2024

March 14, 1939 — December 7, 2024

Marilyn H. Rogers, 85, passed away on December 7, 2024, at her home in Brigham City, Utah.

She was born on March 14, 1939, in Brigham City, Utah, to Mildred Helen Nelsen and Lloyd Amos Perry. Marilyn was raised in Brigham City, Utah, and graduated from Seminary and Box Elder High School, Class of 1957. She later graduated from Stevens-Henager College.

Marilyn went to work at Hill Air Force Base where she met Jack Rogers, an Airman, stationed there. They got married March 12, 1965, in the Brigham City 3rd Ward. On March 12, 1969, they celebrated by getting sealed in the Logan Temple. They were married for 59 2/3 wonderful years.

In May of 1966 they bought a home and moved to Brigham City where Marilyn was soon involved planting flowers, trees, bushes, and grass. After eight years of government work, she retired to start having a family. She gave birth to their miracle baby girl, Laura, who was a joy to raise and teach. Marilyn, Jack, and Laura camped out a lot and they went on quite a few road trips together.

Some of Marilyn’s interests and hobbies have been camping, eating out, exercising from A to Z Aerobics to Zumba with lots in between, decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas and Halloween, and dressing up for all of them. She also enjoyed square, round, ballroom, and line dancing. She and Jack also enjoyed 45+ years of being members of a group of friends they called the Animal Club–she was the cat! She enjoyed shopping in thrift and antique stores, searching for treasures. She liked to read and put puzzles together. Marilyn loved animals, especially paint horses and her spoiled indoor fur baby cats. She loved angels, butterflies, and cats. She and Jack enjoyed going to senior centers for lunch and entertainment.

She is survived by her husband: Jack; daughter: Laura (David) Evans; and granddaughter: Kira (Sean) Schulz.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers: Gordon and Dennis Perry.

No services will be held per Marilyn’s wishes. Myers Mortuary of Brigham City will handle the cremation, and her resting place will be in a niche in the Brigham City Cemetery Meditation Garden.
