Eva VaLane Seifert
Eva VaLane Seifert, age 92, went home to be with the Lord on December 7, 2024. She was born in Kanesville, Utah on June 3, 1932, to Eva Rose White and Lewis Merlin Rawson.
She married Louis Eugene Seifert on October 12, 1951, and they were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Ogden, Utah temple on November 27, 1982. After the death of her husband, she married Paul L. Child, they later divorced.
VaLane graduated from Weber High School and worked for the Internal Revenue Service, Hill Air Force Base, Union Pacific Railroad, and Cargill. VaLane was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many different callings. She served in the Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society organizations, in the Special Needs Mutual for 20 years, and as an ordinance worker in the Ogden, Utah temple for 9 years. She also served a full-time mission in the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the LDS Employment Center in Ogden, Utah.
VaLane was a very talented artist and singer. She loved to paint in watercolor, and she belonged to several singing groups, Promise and Ladies Night Out. She had the opportunity to travel to Israel where she spent two weeks touring and performing “The Hosanna 2000 Choir” under the direction of Lex De Azevedo and the Jerusalem Symphony. She also traveled with her art class to Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and other various places to paint her beautiful pictures.
VaLane is preceded in death by her first husband Louis Eugene Seifert, her parents, and her four siblings, Merlin Rawson, Adrian Rawson, Verla Hull, and Donna Rose. Also, two grandsons Tyler Jacobazzi and Jason Hampson.
VaLane is survived by five daughters and one son: Bonnie (Ron) Norman, Linda (Craig) Hampson, Debbie (Paul) Trainor, Jerry (Sandra) Seifert, Lori (Mike) Jacobazzi, Denise Drysdale, and Julie Aldrich (Peter Palmer) a foster daughter. VaLane has 23 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Applegate, specifically Jan and Megan for their excellent and loving care of our mom and thanks to all the Memory Care staff at Fairfield Village in Layton Utah.
Services will be held Monday, December 16, 2024, 11:00 AM at the Washington Terrace 2nd Ward, 4855 South 300 West, Washington Terrace, Utah. A viewing will be held prior at 10:00 AM.
Interment at Washington Heights Memorial Park.
