James (Jim) O Craynor

Feb 3, 2024

1945 – 2024

When I was a young boy living on 12th street, I used to love riding horses with my friend down to the river bottoms. We had the best time. I always thought I was special because l was born on the 4th of July 1945 to William & Alta Craynor. I grew up in a home with my 3 brothers. Dennis (Caroloyn) Craynor, Bill (Dianna) Craynor, and Mike (DJ) Craynor. I often reminisced about the Hunting, Camping, and Christmas traditions we shared with all our families.

As a teenager my most dreaded job was cutting the asparagus patch and tying it to bundles for selling. After graduating from Weber High School, I worked hard and was happy to operate my Chevron Service Station, for the next chapter of my life. I loved my work at Hill Air Force Base as an Air Craft Electrician. I took great pride in the work I did during my years there. It was there I made many lifelong friends. I will miss my wife Kathleen and children – Bret (Marianne) Craynor, Dana (John) Robison, Terri Peterson, Todd (Teri) Yocom, Troy (Brenda) Yocom, Trevor (Monica) Yocom, Hilary (Bret) Barnes. Plus Many wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren. I loved watching my grandchildren play in various sports and activities. Golfing with my wife and friends brought a great joy to my life. I was so proud when I got a “Hole in one” at Schneiter’s Bluff. Throughout my life we had wonderful times with our children and grandchildren on get-aways spending a weekend having golf team events, doing “Amazing Races” and spending nights in Park City and Heber.

Thank you to all the friends I made with our fun game of Football -Tailgate parties.

On January 22, 2024 my time here ended. I now say good bye and “Happy Trails” to you.

I want to give a special thank you to my special friend Jeff Peterson and Brent & Nanci Hart, they are like family to us.

I chose to donate my body to the University of Utah Medical School.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 11:00 AM with a visitation prior at 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Myers Mortuary, 5865 S 1900 W, Roy Utah.
