Jeffrey Hyrum Painter

Feb 8, 2024

Jeffrey Hyrum Painter passed from this life on Sunday, January 28, 2024. Jeff was born to Clarence and Rita Painter on October 18, 1957, in Ogden, Utah. As a young man, Jeff exhibited a magnetic personality. He was an avid skier, and it has been said by many that he had no fear and a great love of adventure. Family was important to Jeff, and after graduating from Roy High School in 1976, he began his career as an active participant in the operations of the Painter Colleges of Beauty and family businesses. He enjoyed working by his father’s side who was one of his dearest friends and reminisced that his best days were spent with his family.

Throughout his life, he had a career as a general contractor and proudly founded Jeff Painter Construction. He also ventured into cosmetology and opened his own salon, Hair Express. He had an innate ability to make friends wherever he went and knew how to brighten a room with his boisterous laughter and stories, a quality his grandchildren will remember and miss most. Jeff was a cowboy at heart, through and through. He loved fishing, hunting, and spontaneous travel, and his children reflect fondly on memories of camping in the Uintas and weekend getaways. Jeff felt most at peace when surrounded by the beauty of the mountains or the ocean and believed life was meant to be enjoyed at all times. He is preceded in death by his parents, and he is survived by his sons, Gary Leo Wise and Jeffrey Clarence Painter; his daughter Starline Painter Albert; 11 grandchildren; siblings Tamara McCowen, Douglas Painter, and Rodney Painter; and his best friend, Annie. Services will be held at Plain City Church on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 4 pm. Church Address: 2280 N 3600 W St, Plain City, UT 84404. Celebration of Life to follow.
