Donna Harper Vest

1929 -- 2024

Donna Harper Vest, 95, passed away February 9, 2024, at Legacy House of Park Lane; an assisted living facility; on a rainy afternoon after her family had stepped away. She was born in Ogden on January 4, 1929, to Rulon J. and Claribel Richardson Harper. She graduated from Weber High School in 1947. In her senior year, she was selected Miss Weber. She attended Weber State College.

She married A. Dee Vest on February 19, 1949; their vows were later solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple. Dee died on May 2, 2013.

She held numerous positions with the schools, serving many years as PTA President. She worked years as an Ogden Temple worker and worked for local dentists and retired from ZCMI.

She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and served as registrar on the international board, the Ogden Museum Board and various camp posts. She was selected as the 2008 Daughters of the Utah Pioneer Queen for the 24th of July celebration. She was a member of the Altruist Club, where she served as president and other positions.

Her hobbies are family, quilting, crocheting and porcelain painting, and she shared what she created with family and friends.

She was blessed with six children, four sons and two daughters, Dennis and Melanie, Steve and Becky, Larry, Clif and Lisa, Denise (deceased) and Debra. She has 25 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren with two on the way, and 38 great-great grandchildren with 4 on the way.

She is preceded in death by her husband Dee; her parents; her brothers Roland, Lyle, Kaylen; her daughter Denise; and 2 grandchildren LariAnn Vest and Jered D. Vest, great grandchildren Kennedy Vest and Payton Vest.

The family would like to thank Kija and Christina the CNA's at Legacy who gave Mom special attention. We would also like to thank Donnetta with Inspiration Hospice who made sure Mom was comfortable in the last hours of her life.

Services for Donna will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024, 11:00 a.m., with viewings Wednesday 5-7 p.m. and Thursday prior to services 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah. Interment will be at Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 South Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah.
