Kari Jo Whitelock
Kari Jo Whitelock, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones on February 14, 2024.
She was born March 18, 1951, in Logan, Utah to Darwin and Karen Larsen. She was the oldest of five siblings and graduated from Weber High School.
On June 5, 1969, Kari Jo married her sweetheart James (Jim) Michael Whitelock in the Logan Utah Temple. They began fulfilling their life together by raising 3 beautiful children – Kristen, Mike, and Whitney. Kari was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to all. She had a great love for her husband, children, and all she came in contact with. She has lived everyday faithful to the love and care of her growing family.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. With her compassionate heart she ministered to anyone who was in need, whether that was with her talents in cooking, floral arrangements, or lending a listening ear which cultivated many lifelong friendships.
Kari had a love of watercolor and oil painting and perfected that talent throughout her life. She had a special way of capturing precious moments and memories in time and turning them into paintings that will be treasured for a lifetime. Kari also had a natural talent in interior design and decorating whether it be for holidays, weddings, or just simply making anything more beautiful.
Kari was especially grateful for her husband, for his love and compassion he so willingly devoted to her throughout her life, but especially in her last days here on Earth. The family would also like to extend their greatest love and appreciation to all the friends, neighbors, Pine View Care Center, and Aspen Ridge Hospice for the kind, loving, and compassionate service they provided.
She is survived by her husband James (Jim) Whitelock, children: Kristen Twitchell (John), Mike Whitelock, Whitney Duffin (Bo), and 5 grandchildren: Kendall, Korbin and Kambree Twitchell and Isla and Drae Duffin.
She was preceded in death by her father, Darwin M. Larsen, mother, Karen A. Larsen, sister-in- law, Desiree Cooper-Larsen and several beloved family members and friends.
Private services will be held for family on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Lindquist Mortuary in Layton, Utah. Interment will be held at the Ben Lomond Cemetery.
