Sandra Ruth Moyes

Feb 20, 2024

Sandra Ruth Moyes, born March 22, 1947 in Leicester, England, UK, passed away on February 18, 2024. Throughout her 76 years, Sandra’s life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and service. She immigrated with her family to America when she was very young and was a faithful life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She excelled in school and loved sports, such as softball, tennis, and swimming. These activities helped her to meet and date Laurence Moyes. They were sealed on August 4, 1967, in the Logan temple after which they made their home in Ogden. Sandra, a retired X-ray technician and dental office manager, served diligently in her work. Her x-ray technician career took her to Beverly Hills, California, where she worked while Larry attended dental school at UCLA. She later worked with him at the dental office until they retired.

Sandra’s life was not only defined by her professional accomplishments but also by her community involvement and hobbies. She loved to read and plan unforgettable family vacations. These annual trips became a cherished tradition, providing her loved ones with fun stories and memories. In her quiet moments, Sandra found joy in collecting clocks, stars, and bicycles, and took great pleasure in decorating her home. Her active involvement in Scouting, the PTA, and the Utah Dental Association, as well as her dedicated service in various teaching and leadership callings in her ward and stake, demonstrated her commitment to her community and her faith. She enjoyed attending the temple and served for many years in the clothing department of the Ogden temple.

Sandra’s love and legacy live on in her husband, Laurence, and her children, Julie (Layne) Blanch, Jennifer (Daniel) Calder, Jeffrey (Brenda) Moyes, and Jonathan (Tenille) Moyes. She was the proud grandmother of Mason, Koban, Logan (Heather), Ashley, Lauren, Jake, Jackson, Emily, and Adam, and several beloved granddogs. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Iris Bailey, her brothers Keith and Alan Bailey, and her daughter, Jill.

Sandra’s life was an embodiment of dedication, love, and service. Her spirit, wisdom, and warmth will forever be remembered and treasured by her loved ones. To honor Sandra’s life, we invite you to share memories and upload photos on her memorial page. In doing so, we can keep her memory alive and celebrate the remarkable woman she was.
