LaRue Estella Ary (Stock), age 90, of Layton, Utah, passed away Tuesday January 2, 2024, in her home surrounded by her loved ones. LaRue was born January 25, 1933 in Afton, Wyoming. LaRue was a special kind of woman. She was loving, caring, loved entertaining and always had an open door.

LaRue married the love of her life, her soul mate – Robert Eugene Ary (Bob) on March 28th, 1966 in Pocatello, Idaho; together with six kids. They were stationed in Florida, Utah, California, Australia and North Dakota until retirement in 1983, when they moved home to Utah to be close to family.

She was an avid animal lover and a brilliant artist, a trait she learned from her mother. LaRue collected porcelain dolls and bears of all sizes. LaRue had a heart of gold and lived for her family. She loved to cook and host gatherings in her home. She was the kind of woman who would not be caught without her pearls and lipstick, but if you did catch her without them on, her beauty still shined through.

LaRue is survived by her loving husband, Bob Ary; children, Judy Gentry, Beverly Woods (Long), Scott Smith, Teri Browning (Smith) and Marc Ary; nine grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and sisters, Sharen (Michael) Peterson and Maxine (Bill) Jackson.

LaRue was preceded in death by her loving parents, Carl and Lucille Stock; brothers, Kent and Duane Stock; sister, Karen Andre (Stock); son, John Long; grandson, Michael Browning; great-grandson Scott (Scotty) Smith; as well as many other much loved relatives.

LaRue will be remembered for her contagious laugh, her smile that could light up any room, and her fiery spirit. She touched the lives of many through her years and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Park Street Ward Chapel, 275 Park Street, Layton, Utah. Family and friends may gather Wednesday evening January 10th from 5-7p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 250 North Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah and prior to services at the church from 10-10:30 a.m. Interment will be at South Morgan Cemetery, 335 South State, Morgan, Utah.
