June 24, 1946 — January 2, 2024

Meridian – Susan “Sue” Dayton Hodgson, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, and sister, was reunited with the love of her life on Jan. 2, 2024, at the age of 77. Susan was born in Ogden, Utah as the only daughter of Jack Dayton and Pauline Amidan, on June 24, 1946, and was proceeded in death by them. Susan was involved in dance from a young age and after attending Clearfield High School earned a full ride scholarship to beauty school. During this time, she met her soulmate Kent Hodgson. Sue and Kent were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on March 18, 1967.

To them were born two sons Chance R. Hodgson and Chase J. Hodgson and they later adopted a son Ephriam James Hodgson. In 1977, Kent and Sue moved to Meridian, Idaho and opened Carpetime, Inc. Through their 29 years of business in the Treasure Valley, they met many people who became life long friends. After retiring they moved to Lima, Montana where they were able to spend the best years of their marriage. After Kent’s passing, she returned to Idaho to be with her sons, daughters, grandchildren and life long friends. In her twilight years, she had many adventures and lots of travel with her sister’s-in-law and friends. She also spent hours upon hours organizing her life in pictures through scrapbooking.

Sue is survived by her sons Chance with wife Meredith and their children, Davis and wife Autumn, Sarah, Dayton, and Maggie Hodgson; Chase with wife Melissa and their children, Connor, Cohen, and Calder Hodgson; Ephriam and his children Joran and Orion Hodgson. In April 2024, Sue would have welcomed her first great grandchild.

The family will greet friends for a celebration of her life at 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at the Relyea Funeral Chapel, 318 N. Latah St., Boise, Idaho. Burial will follow in the Kuna Cemetery, Kuna, Idaho.
