In Loving Memory of Lidia Alejandre

Jan 8, 2024

1946 – 2024

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, our grandmother, our great grandmother, and great great- grandmother Lidia Alejandre who departed from this world on January 5, 2024 at 6:22PM. She was 77 years old.

Born on August 15, 1946, in Romero de Torres, Municipio de Zamora, Michoacán, México, Grandma Lidia lived a life filled with love, compassion, and grace. She was a beloved wife, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great-grandmother, and friend, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Mama as most of her grandchildren called her- was a pillar of strength and kindness, always ready to offer a helping hand or a comforting word. Her warm smile could brighten even the darkest days, and her laughter echoed the joy she found in the simple pleasures of life. If you ever visited Mama Lidia she made sure you ate something she prepared for you before you left.

In her 77 years, Mama Lidia experienced the world with a sense of wonder and curiosity. Mama Lidia possessed a gift for crocheting. She could crochet anything she saw without patterns or instructions. She loved mariachi music.

Her zest for life inspired those around her to embrace every moment and cherish the connections that bind us. One of her favorite singers was Paquita la del Barrio.

Family was the cornerstone of Mama’s existence. She leaves behind a legacy of love and unity that will continue to resonate through the generations. Her devotion to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great- grandchildren was unwavering, and her home was a haven of warmth and hospitality. Mama Lidia leaves behind her husband of 64 years, Jose Cruz Alejandre and eleven children Teresa Alejandre, Humberto (Sheila) Alejandre, Eulogio (Natalie) Alejandre, Rosaura Alejandre, Ana Alejandre (Jay Christensen), Graciela (Angel) Aparicio, Martha Alejandre (Francisco J. Medel), Lorena Alejandre (Gerardo Silva), Erica (Chris) Kovalsky, Leslie (Hector) Vara, and Luis Alejandre. Finally, Mama Lidia leaves behind forty three grandchildren and fifty-three great grandchildren and three more on the way and eight great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by several family members whom she loved and who loved her.

As we mourn the loss of our warrior, we also celebrate the rich tapestry of her life. Her spirit will forever live on in the memories we shared, the lessons she imparted, and the love that she so freely gave.

Mama Lidia was a devout believer of Jesus Christ, God the Father, The Holy Ghost, and the Virgen de Guadalupe. She attended church services regularly at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Ogden. The Family wants to thank La Madre Isabel González for being at her side and supporting the family, including several visits at the hospital.

Memorial services (Rosary) will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 6:00pm-8:00pm and a Mass Celebrating Life on Thursday, January 11th at 11:00am at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT 84404

May Lidia Alejandre rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she shared and the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in our hearts.
