Maragret “Jo” Mimnaugh

Jan 9, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maragret “Jo” Mimnaugh, a vibrant soul who danced her way through life and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. Jo departed this world on January 6, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unbridled joy.

Jo’s journey through life was a dance in itself, marked by grace, enthusiasm, and an unwavering commitment to the things she loved. A proud alumna of the Bonneville High drill team, Jo’s passion for dance was evident in every step she took. She later shared her expertise as a ski instructor at Snowbasin and served as a dedicated dance coach for many years, imparting her love for movement to countless individuals.

Known to be everyone’s go-to babysitter, Jo was adored for her warm and caring nature. Her dream was to be a mama, a dream that she undoubtedly achieved as she showered those around her with maternal affection and guidance. The title of “Jo Mama” was one that she wore with pride and love. She recently became an adoring mother, bringing into the world, a new purpose and the love of her life, daughter Saylor Blake Moss.

Jo had a special place in her heart for the outdoors, and she embraced life with a fearless and adventurous spirit. Her love for the Otters was a testament to her playful and goofy nature.

Always accident-prone but with a heart full of sweetness, Jo was a hard worker who approached life with an upbeat attitude and an infectious sense of humor.

Her friends and family will fondly remember her as the one who never turned down an invitation, always eager to join in on the fun. Jo loved to rip on her board, capturing the essence of her adventurous spirit on the slopes.

Jo found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially in watching scary movies and spending time in Park City. Her love for the Oregon coast reflected her appreciation for the calming and rhythmic beauty of the ocean. Jo created countless memories with her “Oma” and family each summer on the coast, enjoying the blue skies and coastal winds.

In celebrating Jo’s life, let us remember her as a woman who embraced every moment with love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of joy and warmth that will forever be etched in our hearts.

May she rest in peace, forever dancing in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to share in the beauty of her journey. Jo is survived by her daughter Saylor Blake Moss, her life partner Zak Moss, her sister Tyler Mimnaugh, her mother Brandi Mimnaugh, her father Lance Mimnaugh, and her stepmother Krislyn Mimnaugh.
