It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Theodore (Ted) Harold Duke, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a creative influencer in the community.

Ted was born to Theodore (TR) and Lillian Duke and spent his early years in Ogden, Utah, where he cultivated a passion for sports, fishing, and hunting. A proud graduate of Ogden High, Ted later served in the US Army’s 82nd Airborne paratroopers division in ’53.

A man of impeccable style and a perfectionist at heart, Ted wowed everyone with his looks and talent for maintaining immaculate spaces. He shared his love for sports, fish stories, and great cars with his siblings and their families, creating cherished memories at Lil and TR’s gatherings.

Ted’s legacy extends beyond his personal life. He sponsored and managed a world-class fast-pitch softball team, owned remarkable racehorses, and built a national business presence with retail stores in major cities. His final endeavor, a furniture import and retail store in Cave Creek, stands as a testament to his hard work and dedication, thriving under the continued guidance of his loving wife, Carmen.

Carmen, a special part of Ted’s life, exhibited unwavering love and care, handling his illness and passing with grace and compassion. Ted leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and style. As a believer in Jehovah, Ted looked forward to the a resurrection and the blessings of being reunited with his loved ones in paradise on earth. He expresses gratitude to his family and fellow members of his faith for their support.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, TR and Lillian Duke, and siblings: Bill Duke, Pat Brown, Dan Duke, and Paul Duke. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carmen Duke, Siblings Helen Eddings and George Duke, five children and their spouses: Brad (Cyndee) Duke, Jane (Kevin) Venstra, Paul (Krissy) Duke, George (Jen) Duke, and Diego Duke. Additionally, Ted leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

In Ted’s memory, let us celebrate a life well-lived and carry forward the lessons of love, dedication, and style that he bestowed upon us.
