C. David Correll

Dave Correll, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024, surrounded by family. He was born on May 3, 1941, in Canton, Ohio the son of Mary Jane Pratt and Charles “Bud” Correll.

Dave married the love of his life Vicki Powers on September 20, 1969, in Canton, Ohio, they had two children Mike and Jen. Vicki passed away on January 5, 2003.

He joined the ROTC in Michigan, while he was earning his master’s degree in accounting and then decided a career with the US Navy was the correct career path for him. Throughout his Naval Career, he lived in a variety of places, settling in Utah in 1989. He retired from the Navy after serving almost 30 years in 1992 as the Commander of the Defense Depot in Ogden, Utah.

He lived a life of service, and was involved with many boards, including the Ogden Rotary Club and with the United Way. When he wasn’t serving his community, he was golfing. After 80 years, he was so excited to make his first hole in one in September 2023.

Dave enjoyed traveling; he shared this love with his family creating many memories while seeing the world together. He remained active and enjoyed taking walks with his friends.

Dave loved college football and cheering for his team the University of Michigan.

Dave was an amazing grandpa and was lovingly known as PopPop.

He is survived by his son Michael (Jennifer Hansen) Correll and his daughter Jennifer (David) Shelton, his grandchildren: Gage Thomas Correll, Emmalee Kozlewski, Holly Tyler, Jade Shelton and Noah Shelton. Also survived by his brother Bob (Sue) Correll.

He was preceded in death by his sweetheart, Vicki; his parents, and brother, Bruce (Barb) Correll.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd, Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment will be on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
