Phyllis Joanne Brady Candland

1944 – 2024

On January 21, 2024, Phyllis Joanne Brady Candland was called to Heaven. Phyllis was the daughter of Estella Davidson Brady and John Brady. Phyllis was born in Toppinish, Washington on February 15, 1944 and was the youngest of nine children. She married Richard D. Candland, Sr. on July 25, 1961, and was married for 62 years. Phyllis had five children, Richard “David” Candland, Jr. (Cynthia Osborne-Candland) who both preceded her in death, Shellie D. McDowell (Gregory J. McDowell), Danny R. Candland (Karla J. Candland), Chad D. Candland, and Brad D. Candland. Phyllis also had 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Phyllis spent many years working at National Cash Register (NCR), Cream-o-Weber, and as a crossing guard.

The family was blessed by the gracious care and kindness of the hospice nurses, Jennifer Hansen and Tim Gardewine, that assisted greatly in keeping Phyillis comfortable in her final days on Earth.

Visitation for family only at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT on January 30, 2024 at 5:00PM.

Graveside services will be conducted on January 31, 2024 at 4:00PM, for those wishing to pay their respects, at Myers Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 N. Monroe Blvd, Ogden, UT. A table will be available for anyone wishing to sign a condolence book, provide flowers and/or donations.
