Steve Jay Bonnemort

Steve Jay Bonnemort born September 7, 1956 to Alice Watkins Bonnemort and Hyrum Stewart Bonnemort, passed away from a heart attack on January 26, 2024. He was born in Reno, Nevada but spent most of his life in South Ogden, Utah.

He married Shelley Lynn Petersen in the Ogden, Utah Temple on March 10, 1978. They had two girls, Emily and Robyn. He had a very special bond with his girls. He loved his son-in-laws Mark and Matthew and his 7 grandchildren.

He spent his entire career working for the Internal Revenue Service and after his early retirement he served multiple missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

He was a man of service. He would do anything for anyone, especially his family and friends. He made friends everywhere he went. He loved people. To know him was to love him.

Steve is survived by his wife, Shelley. Daughters Emily (Mark) Douglas and Robyn (Matthew) Maughan. Grandchildren, Luke Maughan, Jacob Maughan, Katelyn Maughan, William Maughan, Penny Douglas, Harvey Douglas, Lucy Douglas.

A Celebration of his life will be held on February 1, 2024 at The Foundry, 2452 E. 6700 S. Unit C, Uintah, UT 84405 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Casual Dress.

Steve’s humor is evident in his request that the last line of his obituary read, “Everyone please remember, vote Democrat”.
