Lloyd David Allen

Lloyd David Allen returned to his heavenly home on July 6, 2024. He was born in Moab, Utah on June 13, 1940, to Ammon and Fern Allen. He married Bonnie Lou Jones in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 3, 1960. They were blessed with four sons and settled in Tooele, Utah. Bonnie passed away in 1978. He then met and married Cynthia Kelley Butcher for time in the Ogden Temple on October 19, 1979. She brought four children of her own to the marriage. They then had four more children together for an even dozen, three daughters and nine sons. They raised their family in Plain City, Utah. He was a grandpa to 30 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

In 2000, Dave and Cindy moved to their dream home, a ten-acre ranch in Huntsville, Utah. He loved to garden and preserve his harvest. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and spent many years working with the youth and sharing his passion for scouting. He was a top-notch Dutch oven cook and spent many summers cooking for youth camps and neighborhood parties. He enjoyed the outdoors and sport shooting.

He is survived by his wife Cindy Allen, and children Dwayne Allen (Jennifer), Tom Allen (Shelli), Darrin Allen (Christine), Dan Allen (Heidi), Aaron Butcher (Monica), Tawsha Butcher (Cameron), Ryion Butcher (Kristin), Adam Butcher, Deseret Allen, Nathan Allen, Jonathan Allen, and Jennifer Castillo (David). Also, his brothers Don Allen, and Carl Allen.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ammon and Fern Allen, first wife Bonnie, his sister Nancy Symonds, and his brother James Allen.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 12:00 pm at Tate Mortuary, 110 South Main Street, Tooele, Utah, with a viewing prior from 11:00-11:45 am.
