Leon D. Tanner

January 1, 1959 – July 17, 2024
Leon D. Tanner, better known as Dee, came from a galaxy far far away. He arrived on this planet on January 1, 1959, to the parents of Gordon K. Tanner and Joann Kimber. He was born in Ogden before moving to Brigham City.
At the age of 18 he met the love of his life. The only good thing to come out of high school. They have been married for 46 years and raised their family in Honeyville.
He loved to travel with friends and family. His goal was to visit every NFL & MLB Stadium. He also enjoyed trap shooting, golf, hunting, and fishing. He was a production supervisor at Vulcraft for 38 years.
His love for his wife Colleen was legendary. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. He recently became ordained a minister to perform the wedding of his grandson.
Dee with his brutally honest demeanor, wealth of knowledge and warped sense of humor, was truly a one-of-a-kind individual. He was a source of comfort to many, loved by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Dee is survived by his wife Colleen Tanner, his son Nick Tanner (Mindi), his daughter April Nelson (Brent), and his grandchildren, Treven, Melody, Tanner and Finn, his great-granddaughter Arya. His siblings, Cheryl Ferrara (Tony), Chris Tanner (Cross) and Shellie Calchera (Richard).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Joann Tanner and brother Bruce.
A special acknowledgment goes to the first responders of the Honeyville Fire Department and Richie Aoki, for their bravery in trying to save him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his influence will continue to be felt for generations to come.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Honeyville Buddhist Temple 3945 W 6900 N, Honeyville, Utah. A Visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, Utah.
