Earl Arnold Livingston

Jun 7, 2024

1947 – 2024

Earl Arnold Livingston passed away at his home in Ogden on the morning of May 28, 2024, after a brief, yet courageous battle with cancer. He didn’t see it coming, and he fought it with everything he had, but we are glad he is now at peace.

Earl was born on November 29, 1947, in Ogden UT to Arnold Dale and Margaret Mae Livingston. He graduated from Clearfield High School in 1965 and shortly after joined the Army Reserve and moved to Los Angeles, CA. Here, he was able to bask in the sun and his lifelong love of the Dodgers.

In 1972, he married Gale King of Ogden and he never stopped loving her. In fact, he loved her so much he married her twice! Together, Earl and Gale had one son, Jordan, and he and his dad were the best of friends.

The majority of Earl’s career was spent at ATK Aerospace Systems (Northrop Grumman), where he worked as a Production Scheduler, Operations Manager, and a Continuous Improvement Specialist. While working, he completed his bachelor’s degree in 1995 from the University of Phoenix.

Although he officially retired in 2014, Earl never stopped working. He offered his expertise in lean manufacturing principles to companies in California, Texas, Alabama, and more. During this period of his life, he made many long-lasting friendships, and…probably played a lot of golf.

All throughout Earl’s life, he was the Life of the Party. His good nature, his humility, and his unmatched ability to tell a great joke ensured that he was never without plenty of friends and admirers. He made every situation and gathering fun.

Earl had a passion for many things in life. He was a dedicated baseball fan and was always at home on a ball field, whether coaching little league, playing fast-pitch softball, or visiting Dodger Stadium. He loved rock-and-roll, and never stopped wanting to be Elvis. He loved to play golf, and being on a course with friends and family was truly his happy place. Right up until he hit one in the trees.

Earl lived a full and productive life full of humor and friendship. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Gale; son, Jordan (Michelle); grandchildren, Sasha and Luke; brother, Max; and sisters, Laura, Sharon, and Jeanne. He’s also survived by his grandnephew, Early; and grandnieces Vada and Sonny. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Linda.

As Earl never wanted a sad and somber funeral, we’ll have a party instead! There will be a celebration of his life at The Barn Golf Club in North Ogden on June 30 from 6-8pm.

Arrangements entrusted to Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT.
