Erma Glenn Leishman Busenbark

Erma Glenn Leishman Busenbark, 94, passed away June 4, 2024 at her home. Erma was born July 31, 1929 in Cache Valley, Wellsville, Utah, the daughter of Andrew Adamson Leishman and Mary Bankhead Glenn. She attended schools in Wellsville and Hyrum.

Erma married Grant L. Busenbark on March 25, 1947 in Garland, Utah. They were married 68 years before his passing in 2015.

Erma was a member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary for many years where she served as President. She loved to play bridge with special friends Marge, Jill, and Karen. Erma also enjoyed playing gin rummy, crocheting, camping, motorcycle riding, snowmobiling and the Utah Jazz. She loved the yearly family Christmas party. She was also known for her wonderful cooking and candy making. At home she always cooked delicious home-made food. She enjoyed traveling, including their traditional trip to Bear Lake and spending time at the cabin in Alpine, Wyoming that she and Harold Abernathy built. She loved to dance, especially with her honey. They were really something to watch!

She owned and worked with her husband for 5 years operating a taxicab service, they started Grants Trucking in 1953 which later turned into Busenbark Construction Inc. for over 50 years. She and Grant worked together to build these companies and Erma was one of the first women in Utah to get her contractor's license.

Erma is survived by her children Ginger Hollie (Patrick) Phalen, Cindy Lu (Spanky) Jensen, Peggie Ann (Kyle) Bambrough and Gary Grant (JoAnne) Busenbark; her sister Rita York; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Grant and 15 siblings.

Services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden with a visitation prior from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Park.
