Byron Hideki Okada
Byron Hideki Okada died peacefully on Monday June 17th of complications resulting from a double lung transplant he received in 2021.
Byron worked for almost 40 years as an Electrical Engineer for Thiokol (now Northrop Grumman). Byron was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ as a young adult and served in many positions such as elders quorum secretary and financial/membership clerk for several bishoprics.
He was most happy when assisting in the sound and lighting for ward productions, and for nearly 20 years, he ran the tech booth for many plays at the Old Barn Community Theatre. Byron also enjoyed traveling, gardening, and camping.
He is preceded in death by his father Beb Okada. He is survived by his daughters, Felicia Decker, Catherine (James) Meidell, Serena (Brian) Burton, Bonnie (Brian) Bunn, Sachiko Okada, 17 grandchildren, his mother Ila Okada, and his siblings Trudy (Ryan) Kamisato, Connie (Phillip) Sakashita, and Craig (Jessica) Okada.
