Tamara Lou Underwood Fochtman

Tamara Lou Underwood Fochtman, one of the world’s most elect ladies, returned to her Heavenly home on June 24, 2024 after courageously suffering from Alzheimer’s disease for eleven years.
Tammy was born on October 1, 1947 in Ogden, Utah to Walter Lewis Underwood and Eileen Bingham. She grew up in North Ogden, Utah, graduating from Weber high school in 1966. After high school, Tammy went to work at the Ogden Defense Depot where she was introduced to her eternal sweetheart through a blind date. Tammy married Harry Richard Fochtman on June 12, 1968 in Ogden, Utah. They were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 12, 1970. Tammy and Harry made their home in Ogden where she raised her five children as the most amazing stay-at-home mom ever! Tammy led a life dedicated to her faith and family. She led a life of service, serving everyone she came in contact with, from her family to complete strangers. Tammy was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many callings in the church and had a strong testimony of her Savior and His love for all of His children. Tammy enjoyed baking for others, doing genealogy, working in her yard, drawing, traveling, and spending time with her family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh, traits she kept until the very end. Tammy’s life of dedication, service, unconditional love, sacrifice, humor, hard work, and selflessness is a legacy her family will always honor.
