Constance (Connie) Lucile Garr Allen

Mar 12, 2024

Constance (Connie) Lucile Garr Allen, passed peacefully from this life on March 9, 2024. Her legacy of loving-kindness will always be a treasure of joy for those she left behind.

Connie was born December 4, 1936, in Ogden, Utah to William Earl Garr Sr. and Lucile Holbrook Garr. She had a happy childhood and graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1955. She continued her education at Weber State College and then at Utah State University.

While at Utah State, studying to be an elementary school teacher, she met the love of her life, Brent Arvol Allen. Soon after graduation, they were married in the Logan Utah Temple and began a wonderful life together. They raised their family, traveled the world, and found joy in just being together. Their legacy of love is something the family will always remember. Recently, Brent commented that their love story was “just beginning,” as they look forward to eternity together.

Connie was a faithful servant in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She ran many organizations at the ward and stake level. The one calling she spoke of most was serving in the Young Women’s organization, where she touched many lives. Her legacy of faith and service was something to be admired. We will miss her unwavering testimony and commitment to live a Christ-centered life.

Connie had a beautiful voice and a love for music. She always entertained the family with excerpts from musicals, silly ditties, and church hymns. She sang in many choirs and was part of a trio of friends that sang at church events and funerals. She wanted her own kids to play an instrument and even spent much time teaching the grandkids to play the piano. She was always looking for ways to show off her kids and grandkids through music.

Connie is survived by her husband, Brent, and two children; Pamela (Mike) Pace of Layton, and Bradley (Lynne) Allen of Syracuse. She dearly loved her 9 grandchildren, their spouses, and her 7 great-grandchildren, with one on the way. She will also be dearly missed by her brother Arnold Kent (Cherie) Garr of Orem and sister-in-law Beverly Garr of Ivins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother William Earl Garr Jr., and son, Kevin Brent Allen.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Lindquist Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Rd., Layton, UT. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, March 14th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, and again on March 15, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the same location.
