Gayle Cloke

Gayle Elaine (Clark) Cloke, 75, of North Ogden, passed away on March 5, 2024 in North Ogden.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at North View Senior Center on 3/23/2024 from 1 to 5 p.m., with a short program starting at 2 p.m. Dress is casual. Interment will be a private ceremony at Lindquist’s Memorial of the Wasatch cemetery.

Gayle was born in Ogden to Keith and Betty Clark on 9/7/1948. She attended Weber High School, graduating in 1966. Gayle went on to earn a Master of Education degree at Utah State University.

Gayle married Ron Cloke in December, 1968. They were happily married for over 55 years.

Gayle spent her career in elementary school education, both in Weber and Davis school districts. She spent many years as a classroom teacher before moving into her role as a math education specialist. She was passionate about education and received many accolades and awards, including the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching.

Gayle enjoyed crocheting and music, but most of all spending time with her family.

Gayle is preceded in death by parents Betty and Keith Clark, parents-in-law Doreen and Clifford Cloke, brother Don Clark, and sister Beth Clark Wright.

Gayle is survived by husband Ron Cloke, daughter Stephanie Cloke, daughter Marci Cloke, son-in-law Mike Walks, siblings Pat (Dennis) Irving, Linda Clark, Merlin Clark, Sheri Clark, Barbara (Sterling) Bouwhuis, and Murray (Leann) Clark, and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mathematics Education Trust (MET) for National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) at nctm.org. Condolences may be left in Premier Mortuary’s online guestbook at https://www.premierfuneral.com/obituaries/Gayle-Cloke/#!/TributeWall.
