Jackie Elaine Deakin Elsnab

Mar 15, 2024

August 7, 1953 — March 14, 2024

Jackie Elaine Deakin Elsnab was born on August 7, 1953, in Garland, Utah. She passed away peacefully at her home on March 14, 2024 after a four year courageous fight against triple negative breast cancer. She left us too soon and will be sorely missed.

Jackie was incredibly special. She will be remembered for her generosity, her kindness, her quilting, her cooking, her sacrifices, and her work ethic. She was second to none. Jackie handled adversity with grace, dignity, and strength.

Most fortunate to be Jackie’s family are her devoted husband, Steve and their two children, John and Katie. They know that they are blessed to have had such an amazing person in their lives. Steve and Jackie would have been married 50 years in April.

Jackie is survived by two sisters, Joyce Cox of Elwood, and Diane (Lance) Steward of Tremonton; many nieces and nephews; and devoted friends as well. She had a special relationship with her niece, Anne (Scott) Brown of West Haven, and their son, Samuel. She is also survived by her two golden retrievers, Rosie and Soren, who brought her much joy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Eula Deakin of Tremonton; and sister, Carol Ann Steed of West Haven; and many fur babies.

Jackie grew up in Tremonton, Utah. She graduated from Bear River High School and Weber State College with a degree in accounting. She worked at Weber Basin Water as an accountant for over 20 years. Upon retirement, Jackie became an avid quilter and gardener. She regularly played Mahjong and looked forward to it every week. She will be greatly missed and never replaced.

Graveside services will be private, and we will have a celebration of her life at a later date.

Special thanks to Dr. Buys and the team at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and the nurses from CNS who helped us.
