Corrine Hill Richens

Mar 29, 2024

June 5, 1929 — March 26, 2024

Corrine Hill Richens reached the end of her wonderful life on March 26, 2024, at the proud age of 94.

She was born in Afton, Wyoming on June 5, 1929, to the parents of Oral and Evelyn Merritt. She was the oldest of their eight children, and “big sister” to Venna, Rita, Cleo, Odell, Kent, Kay and Kirk.

Mom was raised on a Dairy farm and often shared stories of all the chores that were required of her while also helping with her younger siblings. She always relayed to her children and grandchildren the importance of hard work.

She loved nature and the beauty of Turnerville where she built a cabin for family gatherings. It was important to her that family understood their heritage and appreciate what nature had to offer.

Mom had many talents such as sewing, crocheting, and quilting, with family members being the recipients of her talents to forever cherish. Mom loved music, she grew up with her father and uncle playing the violin and banjo. Her love was playing the piano, having never taken a lesson, she taught herself to play her favorite songs by ear. Our home was filled with her playing the piano and sharing childhood songs with her children and grandchildren.

Corrine married Gene Hill (deceased) in Twin Falls, Idaho on May 13, 1948. They resided in Pocatello, Idaho; Turnerville, Wyoming and later in Clearfield, Utah where she was employed at HAFB, and they raised their family. In this union they became the parents to Jean Marie (deceased) Robert Child, Marilyn (Randy) Meyer, Diana (Carl-deceased) Bullock, Ronald (deceased) Hill, and Carolyn (Craig) Boyer. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren, Shon (Doris) Child, Tiffany (Rick) Butcher, Trina (Glenn) Meakin, Mandy (Todd) Hardmann, Michael (Amber) Meyer, Jeremey, (April) Bullock, Shyloe Bunner (Donny) Hoopiiaina, Darren (Jessica) Boyer, Brant (Melissa) Boyer, Lindsey Seright, and Chase Boyer. She was also cherished and loved by great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren all of whom were her pride and joy, she was fondly known as “GG” and “Grandma-Great”. Mom was also a favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Corrine married Cliff W. Richens on May 4, 1982, in Nevada. They resided in Roy, Utah. Cliff was loved and adored by all her family members and appreciated all the happiness that he brought to her. Cliff later passed on November 10, 2001. She then moved to Riverdale, Utah, and later resided at Legacy Homes Assisted Living where she formed wonderful friendships in Riverdale and Legacy.

Our heartful thanks to McKay Dee Hospital, Stonehenge Rehabilitation of Ogden, and Legacy Home Assisted Living for the love and care that she received. A special thank you to Dr. Darin Winn whom she considered her special friend.

A Graveside will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Clearfield City Cemetery, 1050 State St, Clearfield, UT 84015, at 11:00AM.
