James “JT” Neal

May 1, 2024

1997 — 2024

The quality, not the longevity, of one’s life is what is important.” Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

James Thomas Neal, also known as “JT”, made his debut in the world as the only child of Michael Williams and Anita “Brooks” Neal on November 22, 1997, in Salt Lake City, Utah. The curtain closed on his life April 18, 2024, in Ogden, Utah.

James grew up in Washington Terrace, Utah, and graduated from Bonneville High School in the class of 2016. He excelled in Track and Field and received a Scholarship to Southern Utah University (SUU) in Cedar City, Utah. He played City Recreational Flag Football, Junior and High School basketball, football, baseball and of course track. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior as a young man. He was a member of the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Ogden, Utah, where he served as a member of the Junior Deacon Board and the Youth Choir. JT had a passion for playing video games and being with his friends. He had a knack for easily making friends and turning some of these special friendships into brotherhoods. He was known for his infectious smile and witty personality and was a good hearted, loyal, and kind soul that made it easy for people to be around him. James’ last employment was with Floor & Décor, as a forklift driver.

James brought joy and love to his forever devoted, doting, and caring Grandmother, Sarah McClellan of Riverdale, Utah, and was the heart of his supportive Mother, Anita “Brooks” Neal of Hartford, Alabama. He also is survived by his Uncle Rodney Carter of Las Vegas, Nevada, and his only living Great-Aunt Polly Sullen of Orlando, Florida. He is preceded in death by his Grandmother Laura Coleman of Hartford, Alabama.

James touched the lives of his many family members and friends. To say that he will truly be missed here on earth is an understatement, but we know he is now in the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ.

The family of the late James Thomas Neal wishes to express their sincerest appreciation to those who have shown acts of kindness, prayers and especially love during this time.
