1963 – 2024

“Everybody’s Best Friend”

Our Rock and beloved Father, Husband, Son, Brother, Uncle and Best Friend, Ross Patrick Roddom passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024 surrounded by his loving family after a long hard-fought battle with cancer.

Ross was born March 27, 1963 in Ogden, UT to loving parents Ronald & Janet Roddom and was raised in Plain City where he lived most of his life before moving to his beautiful retreat in Honeyville, UT.

Dad attended school in Weber county graduating from Weber High School in 1981.

He married Carri Peterson in the spring of 1981 and together they had 4 amazing children, the were later divorced. On June 24, 1995 Ross married the love of his life Jodi Fullmer, and together welcomed 4 more amazing children.

Dad was the hardest working man we knew and always did what was needed to provide for his family. He learned the value of hard work from a young age working as a farmhand. As he began raising a family, he held various jobs including GSL, Autoliv, Smiths/Kroger and presently Kimberly-Clark. He received his Electrical Journeyman’s license through the Ogden-Weber ATC and worked for several electrical companies. But mainly used his trade to do extra side jobs to provide for his family. Dad was planning on getting his general contractors license so he and his son could start their own electrical business. He was the first person to help out family or friends for a cold beer or jar of salsa.

Ross was an avid outdoorsman, he loved being on the mountain whether it be hunting, camping, skiing or just taking a hike he was in his happy place. He made it a habit on his horse rides to pick the bluebells for Jodi and always reminded his kids to do the same for her. He was a simple man and enjoyed anything he could do with his family including walks to the pond with his wife, horse rides with his girls, hunting trips with the boys, helping his kids with projects in their homes, enjoying a cold beer with friends and family and watching any activity the grandkids were a part of. He had a way of making everyone feel like you were favorite; in his sons in law words “he was everyone’s best friend!” his family was his priority, and he took such good care of each of us, and we are all forever grateful and honored that he is ours!

Ross is survived by his loving wife Jodi, Children-Jill & Shane Atmore, Rusti & Jared Venz, Cathi & Trent Minnoch, Justin & Lakota Roddom, Nikki & Joey Black, Rowdy Roddom, Tylar Roddom & Kenzi Roddom. Grandchildren-Easton, Austin, Brooklynn, Krew, Halli, Rayce, Brody, Hayzlee, Mason, Jaden & Kolten. His loving mom Janet Roddom, mother-in-law Karen (Mamacita) Fullmer, father/mother-in-law Ron & Denna Fullmer. Brothers-Mark (Susan) Roddom & John (Diana) Roddom and many nieces, nephews and close friends. He is preceded in death by his Father and sister Jill.

The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Huntsman’s Cancer Institute who lovingly cared for dad as well as his therapists and friends Mitch and Jane, you both mean the world to us and dad.

Services will be held at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 6-8pm and Wednesday May 8th from 9:30-1030am prior to the funeral at 11am.
