Kenneth Torgerson

May 7, 2024

1941 — 2024

Kenneth Dale Torgerson, born in Salt Lake City, UT on October 4, 1941, returned to his Heavenly Father on May 1, 2024. Dale was fun-loving and had the funniest, most sarcastic wit. To those who were lucky enough to have known him, his passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family, loved ones and friends.

Dale was a respected landscape architect and paralegal for the U.S. Forest Service for 32 years. He showed his love for his country by his service in the Marine Corps and later in the Air Force Reserves where he retired as Chief Master Sergeant. After retirement, Dale went back to school to obtain a degree in plant science. This led to his second career teaching at USU as an adjunct professor where he taught through his passion about plants, graphics and design. Dale loved his students, and they loved him. Dale found joy in working with his hands. He was a master gardener and horticulturist.

Dale will be remembered for the love of his family, his supportive spirit, his creative mind and his reliable presence. He is survived by his wife, Carol, his children, Jill Davis, Brent Davis, Steven (Caitlin) Torgerson, and Susan (Aaron) Roane, and his grandchildren Nathan, Anna, Kiersten and Henry. A private viewing will be held with the family and a celebration of life will be held at a future date to be determined.

We invite those who knew and loved Dale to contribute to his online memorial page at https://www.myers-mortuary.com/obituary/Kenneth-Torgerson#tributewall. Please share your memories of Dale and upload photos that capture the essence of this extraordinary man. Your stories and images will serve as a lasting tribute to his life and the love he shared with all of us. If you wish, in lieu of flowers, consider donating to Furever Friends https://www.fureveroasis.com or the Ogden Botanical Gardens https://extension.usu.edu/ogdenbotanicalgardens.

We would like to thank family and friends for their love and support at this difficult time. We would also like to express our gratitude to Dr. Robert Moesinger and the rest of the medical team at McKay Dee Hospital for their loving kindness and care of our husband and father.

Services entrusted to Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah
