Robert Wayne Hoskins

Our beloved dad and papa returned to be with his sweetie peacefully on May 3, 2024.

Robert Wayne Hoskins was born February 22, 1935 in Ogden Utah to John Cooper and Sarah Hill Hoskins.

He is preceded in death by 7 siblings; Jack, Lamar, Karen, Keith, Dale, Pat and Roger Hoskins and one son Robert (Bobby) Wayne Hoskins, and survived by one sister Janet Hoskins. Wayne has two surviving children Shelly Lynne Belflower, and Steven Kip Hoskins.

In 1980, he married his sweetheart Gay Houston Hoskins where he gained 4 more children. Ray Pearce, Robyn Pearce Gross, Jacquie (Brady) Pearce Wood, and Douglas (Debbie) Pearce.

Wayne leaves behind 17 Great-Grandkids and 21 Great-Great Grandkids.

Wayne served our country in the Army and was selected as Soldier of the Month in September 1958. He was stationed in Hawaii where he fell in love with the ocean and the skill of fishing.

He was an avid fly-fisherman who tied his own flies. When he wasn’t on his favorite river he was on the golf course. His golf game was unmatched earning him 2 hole in one’s.

Our hearts will miss his hugs, dancing moves, Chinese checkers, bowling tips, and the love for his family. His presence in our life was as big as the hole he leaves behind. We know for sure that “God couldn’t be everywhere and so he made papa’s” We love you Wayne; come visit us soon!
