Arline Keeling

May 21, 2024

Arline Ostler Keeling died peacefully on May 15th 2024.

She was born in 1939 to Gerald A. Ostler and Marie Hardy Ostler in Provo Utah. She grew up in Salt Lake City and that is where she met and married Ted D Keeling, It was love at first kiss. They married in 1959. They were together for 58 years until Ted's death in 2017. They raised 3 girls Cathy, Jill and Patty and had a stepson Ricky Keeling. She has one remaining brother Stuart Ostler and his partner Ronn Gladwin (deceased). She has 2 "adopted" Nephews Tyler and Anfaney Gladwin. She has several grandchildren including Amy Sheffield and great grandchildren.

Her happiest times were outdoors, in the mountains and yard work was her therapy.

She was a Master Rug Hooker. She worked with fibers since she was very young, "I consider myself a fiber artist." She loved taking classes all over the country and she also taught rug braiding and traditional rug hooking and rug restorations. Her work was published many times. She slyly referred to herself as a "hooker".

She has published, through Amazon, one romantic novel, "If We Don't Live Forever: A Sensuous Love Story," and she was in the process of completing her 2nd book "My Sweet Bawdy Wrench."

She and Ted traveled the world together and had wonderful adventures in their 58 years. "I went to places I never thought I'd see and did things I never dreamt of doing. I have truly led a charmed life. My 'secret' is gratitude. I feel I have led a full life and I am ready for the next adventure."

Arline chose to donate her body to the Anatomy Department of the University of Utah as did her husband Ted.

There will be no funeral. In Lieu of a funeral, she wanted those who remember her with fondness and love to hold a celebration of life with their loved ones.
