Carolyn Rae Sharp

May 24, 2024

April 9, 1943 — May 16, 2024

Carolyn R. Sharp, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, “Aunt Dot,” passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 16, 2024, in Syracuse Utah.

Carolyn was born April 9, 1943, to William Allen and Audrey Humphrey Johnson in Martinez, California. She married James Neil Webre (deceased) in 1961. She married Richard Wallace Olsen in 1965 (divorced), and in 1981 she married H. Don Sharp (deceased).

She spent her professional career in banking, working 35 great years at First Security Bank and retiring from Wells Fargo. She served on the Board of Directors of the Layton Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Directors of the Davis County United Way.

Before and after retiring she enjoyed many fun trips and good times with her good friend Jewel Lee Kenley.

Her grandchildren were her biggest joy and she enjoyed so many happy times with them, including many trips to Warrens for fries and shakes. She always had a big welcoming hug and a supply of chocolate licorice to share. They always knew they had lifelong cheerleader in Grandma. Another one of her joys was gathering her whole family on Christmas morning for brunch and opening of presents. She was a talented shopper and gift-giver, due in large part to her excellent sense of fashion for all ages. Even as the family grew to over 50, she continued to remember everyone at Christmas time with just the right gifts (one always wrapped with your name in glitter on the top) so that everyone felt her love.

Carolyn is survived by her three sons, Scott (Marie) Webre, Steven (Kimberly) Olsen, Anthony Olsen; a daughter, Dawnell (Todd) Sharp Neilson; 11 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. Though we will all dearly miss her encouraging words, her laughter, and her sweet presence, her fingerprint of love that she shared will always remain with each of us.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd, Ogden UT. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park. 4500 South Washington Blvd, Ogden UT.
