Evelyn Jean Nixion, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on May 18, 2024 and she is now in heaven with her Jesus.

Evelyn was born in Camden, AR on September 13, 1945, the daughter of Charles Hunter and Eddie Mae Collins. She was the 2nd child of 10 siblings. Evelyn worked as an LPN and Respiratory Therapist in Lynwood, California. She also fostered 5 children while in CA. She moved to Utah in the late 80’s and continued to help take care of people. She volunteered 16,323 hours as a senior companion for the Roy Senior Center.

Evelyn married Willie Anthony Nicholes, they had two children, Willie Anthony Nicholes Jr and Katrina L. Nicholes-Shults. After Willie’s passing, she married Eugene Brown. They had a son, Marcus Brown. After Eugene’s passing, Evelyn married Ernest Nixon who passed away in 2003. Mrs. Nixon had many hardships and health problems, but never complained and always trusted in the LORD.

Survived by her children; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, 5 siblings and one aunt: Jerry Lee Hunter; Mary M; Patricia Hunte; Debra Carol Joe, Wanda Porchia, and Aunt Rosie ‘Mae” Alexander as well as many nephews and nieces.

Preceded in death by her parents and her husbands, her siblings Chalene “Mary Sue” Williams, Roy Lee Hunter, Patricia Ann Jones, and Barbara Ann Jones and 2 half-sisters Doris Cooper and Lynda Hunter-Murphy and a half- brother, Albert Hunter.

A Celebration of Life service will be held @ 11:00 am, Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT 84404 with a viewing from 9:40 -10:40 am. Pastor Timothy Henderson, Integrity Christian Fellowship Church, will be officiating. Following the service, Evelyn will be laid to rest next to her husband Ernest at the Taylorville Cemetery,4565 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, UT. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Katrina Nicholes-Shults, who is overseeing her mother’s estate.
