Kent E. Bambrough

1934 – 2024

Kent E. Bambrough, a lifelong resident of South Weber, passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on May 18th, 2024, surrounded by family.

Kent was born on September 24th, 1934, to Elmer (Shorty) and Bessie Evans Bambrough. He graduated from Davis High in 1952. He liked to remind the grandkids; it was the only school in Davis County at the time. He was a state champion wrestler and played on the High school baseball team.

He married Cheryl Jones in 1955. They had four children, Steven (Jodi) Bambrough, Keven (Jean) Bambrough, Jon Bambrough and Cheri Bambrough.

Kent worked as a machinist at Marquardt and Hill Air Force Base. He retired from Hill in 1991 and spent the next several years fishing every weekday with his cousin Dee.

Kent was an avid sports fan, he loved the Denver Broncos, the Utah Jazz, Horse racing and the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed his association with Bucks and Bulls Outfitters. His time spent on the mountain was his happiest.

Kent is survived by his wife Cheryl, brother Roger, children, Steven, Keven, Jon and Cheri, grandchildren, Keven (Reyna) Casey (Michelle), Ashlee (Will) Kylee (Mike) Samantha (Kyle) Mikenzee (Ethan) and Kameron Great Grandchildren Kayden, Kamryn, Aiden, Audrey, Oakley, Casyn, Emmett, Bostyn, Jacoby, Mykah, Beckett, Bailor, Aiden and Lucas.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother Kelly, and his great grandson Niko.

Kent said he had 88 great years but 89 was not so fun.

Friends and Family may visit Tuesday May 28th at Leavitt’s Mortuary 836 36th Street Ogden, Utah from 6-8pm and on Wednesday at 9am a short service will follow at 10am.

Interment at Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial park.
