David Alan Flinders
November 15, 1958 — August 30, 2024
David Alan Flinders left us on August 30, 2024, surrounded by family following an extended illness. He was born November 15, 1958, to Lynn and Connie Flinders.
He grew up in Pleasant View where he spent many happy days riding motorcycles and training his father’s racehorses. His friends have many great memories of sitting at Hunts Rock, and running the hills on dirt bikes.
David loved to camp, to ride his dirt bikes in the desert, and had lots of stories of good times with great friends there.
David worked in the automotive industry his entire life, starting out washing windshields and pumping gas at his father’s garage when he was 12. His expertise, commitment to excellence, and genuine care for his customers set him apart in his field. He was well known throughout the community as the guy that could fix anything. He retired from Rods Best Auto Care in 2014, yet his influence continues to echo in the many vehicles he helped keep on the road, and the many people he taught along the way. He was always willing to lend a helping hand.
David married Teena Woodruff in 1980, they later divorced, but remained close and together raised two wonderful children Alan and Monica.
He married Katie Smith in 1992, and they had two amazing children Alicia and Michael. Together they had many great adventures; camping, traveling and raising our wonderful family. He will be deeply missed.
David is survived by his loving spouse of 32 years Katie, children Alan Flinders, Monica (Perry) Hansen, Alicia (Keenan) White, and Michael (Shadow) Flinders. He is also survived by his mother, 3 siblings, 6 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
