Jardel Stratton

Jardel Stratton, 49 of New London, MO passed away at 3:30 PM Saturday, August 31, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO.

Jardel was born on April 23, 1975 in Ogden, UT to Myron Dale Stratton and Maralyn Joy Mikkelsen Stratton.

Jardel is preceded in death by her grandfather, Dale F. Stratton; her Maternal grandparents, Cevela and Carl Mikkelson; four aunts, Dalynn Stratton, Carol Barton, Karen Rodgers, and Vicky Louder; and one niece, Carly Stratton.

Jardel was an elementary school teacher. For the past 18 years she was an educator with the Ralls County School District, at various schools. She had no children of her own but looked at each child in her classroom as her own and loved each one of them.

Jardel treasured the times she shared with her friends and family. She was an avid reader, Jardel liked to read daily scriptures, historical fiction selections, but her passion was children’s books, always reading and looking to add to her library for her students.

Jardel’s faith was always central to her life and a strong guiding influence. Jardel was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. At her church Jardel served as a Missionary in the New England area.

For those celebrating in Utah, there will be a celebration of life party at the North Ogden 23 Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 787 E 1700 N, North Ogden, UT from 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM.
